Petaluma & Azusa, Calif. – May 14, 2025 – As wildfires continue to increase in frequency and intensity across the United States, the need for rapid and reliable wildfire detection has never been more urgent. Lindsey FireSense, based in Azusa, California, is addressing this challenge with its cutting-edge FIREBird sensor—an advanced wildfire detection device capable of identifying wildfires in under two minutes, regardless of weather conditions.

Recognizing the limitations of terrestrial communication in remote wildfire-prone areas, Lindsey FireSense has partnered with X2nSat, a Satellite of Things™ company headquartered in Petaluma, California. Together, they have successfully integrated satellite connectivity into the FIREBird device, enabling real-time data transmission from even the most isolated locations.

Extensive testing conducted at X2nSat’s laboratory confirmed that the FIREBird performs optimally with the OneWeb terminal, with the FLEX60 terminal also demonstrating strong results. These tests validated the FIREBird’s ability to operate seamlessly on both Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellite networks.

“This collaboration marks a significant leap forward in wildfire detection technology,” said Jack McCall, Executive Vice President at Lindsey FireSense. “By combining our sensor innovation with X2nSat’s satellite network, we’re ensuring that critical fire alerts can be transmitted anywhere—no matter where the fire starts.”

“At X2nSat, we believe that connectivity should never be a barrier,” said Garrett Hill, CEO of X2nSat. “Our partnership with Lindsey FireSense ensures that even the most remote regions can benefit from real-time wildfire detection. By enabling the FIREBird to operate over both LEO and GEO satellite networks, we’re helping to deliver critical alerts faster and more reliably—when every second counts.”

Lindsey FireSense and X2nSat will showcase their joint solution at the upcoming Utilities Technology Council Telecom & Technology Conference, taking place June 16–19 in Long Beach, California. For more information, visit X2nSat and Lindsey FireSense – FIREBird
