Wildfires Aren't Going Away
The United States has seen almost 50,000 wildfires in 2020 burning close to 9 million acres.
In California alone, through November 2020 over 9,000 wildfires have taken 31 lives, burned 4.2 million acres, and destroyed over 10,000 structures.
Australia's 2019-2020 bushfire season took 42 lives, destroyed over 300 homes, and burned over 42 million acres.
The 2017 fire season in the EU took 127 lives, burned over 3 million acres, and caused over EUR 10 billion.
